Barcodes - Able to print but unable to scan properly

Postby RedBeanPaste » Mon Oct 01, 2012 9:28 am

Hello all, i have been trying to solve this problem for months now.
The Barc128c font provided has been quite difficult to scan.
Some barcodes printed using Barc128c scan perfectly while others are very difficult to scan.

I have referred to this thread as well - http://www.eziforum.com/BB/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=551

I have tried printing other types of barcode fonts such as EAN13 or Code 128 in different font sizes using the Bartender software by Seagull Scientific, all the different barcode fonts in that program can be scanned properly and without a problem.
We only have a problem scanning using the Barc128c font.
The usual barcodes found on daily products can also be scanned easily.

Here is the full list of what we have tried:

- Printing Barc128c in different font sizes
- Scanning with different barcode scanners.
- Changing our label printer
- Changing label paper

Current setup:
Scanner - Scanlogic CS-300
Printer - TSC TTP-244 Plus

It doesn't quite make sense to me that we are able to scan all other types of Barcodes but not Barc128c which is supposedly a standard barcode type.

Is anyone able to help me with this?
I am quite desperate as this is the only thing stopping me from deploying the POS software at all my other branches.
